The Miao people built the Guan Gong Pavilion on the mountain peak opposite Niujiao Mountain. Niujiaoshan is the totem saint Chiyou of the Miao family. Building the Guan Gong Temple next to Chiyou symbolizes the integration of Miao and Han cultures, with the hope that the ancestors of Miao and Han will jointly bless the safety of Niujiaozhai.
